She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. (NIV).<br />

This verse implies that Adam was with Eve when she was tempted and did not stop her. It was Adam who was given the command : Genesis 2: 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." (NIV). It was his responsibility to tell the Woman and to protect her.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13442051709220611288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3130852870621998574.post-79583264896866322812010-03-06T15:45:00.000-06:002010-03-06T15:45:43.842-06:00Genesis - CreationWhile researching for the Genesis Bible Study, I found out some interesting facts.<br />
<br />
God used in the creation story is Elohim (a plural word). A singular verb is used for created. Elohim indicating that there not only is a trinity of beings, but they are one in Spirit. Hebrew word here for ‘create’ (bara) means to make something from nothing. Only God makes something from nothing.<br />

The Gospel reading is Matt 25 :14-30, which is about the master who went away leaving his servants / slaves with 5 /2/ or 1 Talents, each according to his ability.<div><br /><div>Talents were worth about 6000 denarii, where a denarii was 1 days work for a laborer. So a talent is over 15 years labor or in today's terms assuming $30000/yr. for laborer = $450,000. This was big bucks!</div><div><br /></div><div>I read that Talent's meaning was changed or added to in the middle ages to the talent we now use as abilities.</div><div><br /></div><div>As hard as it is to believe sometimes, God gave all of us talents or abilities which we are to use for His work. The slave who covered up his ability was the one who was censored. It reminds of the song "This Little Light of Mine" in one version has a verse "Hide it under a bushel? No!, I'm gonna let it shine."</div><div><br /></div><div>Don't waste that $450,000, let it shine let it shine!</div></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13442051709220611288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3130852870621998574.post-87892531717883004982008-10-16T14:34:00.000-05:002008-10-20T08:56:05.794-05:00Size Matters?I have noticed that the product sizes we buy are becoming smaller. We use to buy granola bars in a 10 oz. box with 10 bars in the package; then the box had 8.9 oz. and the most recent box was 7.4 oz. Of course the boxes are approximately the same size and have the same number of bars, so it is difficult to tell the difference. Only by checking the labels and remembering the old amounts can we tell the difference. The price is usually slightly more as well. So you are getting less for more.<div><br /></div><div>God is always the same. As times get more difficult He doesn't reduce the size of his grace. He will always be there, He will always answer our prayers (though not necessarily the way or at the time we want them answered). In a unstable world He is always there always the same size!</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13442051709220611288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3130852870621998574.post-39812143593337486012008-10-15T15:36:00.000-05:002008-10-15T16:06:06.922-05:00My Son's Blog : Make Disciples<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:medium;">The following is from </span><a href="http://blog.ericshepard.com/"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:medium;">my son's blog</span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:medium;">:</span></span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 18px); "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:medium;">But, being a Christian is more than just believing.
